His feature film credits include &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Wives and Lovers (film)|Wives and Lovers]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Boeing Boeing (1965 film)|Boeing Boeing]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Roustabout (film)|Roustabout]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Easy Come, Easy Go (1967 film)|Easy Come, Easy Go]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (the latter two starring [[Elvis Presley]]). He also participated in the live telecast of the opening-day ceremonies of [[Disneyland]] in 1955.&lt;br /&gt;

He won an [[Emmy Award|Emmy]] for &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Dick Van Dyke Show&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, two Emmys for &amp;#039;&amp;#039;All in the Family&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, and two [[Golden Globe Award|Golden Globes]] and an N.A.A.C.P. In the 1980s, Rich and [[Henry Winkler]] formed a production company called Henry Winkler/John Rich Productions and together they produced &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[MacGyver]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; for [[Paramount Television]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rich studied at the [[University of Michigan]] earning both a B.A. and an M.A. degree in English.&lt;br /&gt;
